After some serious public comments from Tony Ridnell,
As reported earlier this week on Goff Rugby Report, a pro rugby league in North America will be announced next week.
Next week, Pro Rugby North America is expected to outline plans for a new professional rugby competition in the USA.
The competition was expected to include USA and Canadian teams, but apparently will be only US-based teams for 2016. The company running the league - PRO Rugby North America - is headed up Douglas Schoninger out of New York City.
A group of Native American rugby players is looking to field a rugby team to face a team of indigenous Australian Aboriginal players touring the USA.
Among the things we asked USA 15s Head Coach Mike Tolkin in our recent interview with him was whether he wanted to stay on as coach.
Tolkin said he definitely did, but knew that decision was in the hands of the Board. There’s still work to do, said Tolkin, and added that the team itself is going to undergo plenty of change.
