The retirement of Chris Wyles from playing 15s for the USA is the latest in what should be a series of shifts for the USA Men’s National Team this year.
BOULDER, Colo. (USA Rugby Release) – Chris Wyles has retired from international XVs duty with the Men’s Eagles, USA Rugby announced Monday, to focus on the remaining years of his contract with Saracens RFC in England and to push for the Rio 2016 Olympic Summer Games.
Going into Dubai and Cape Town, USA Men’s 7s Head Coach Mike Friday said his team was “undercooked,” meaning he would have liked some more time with them before the start of the season.
They didn’t look so undercooked, though, beating New Zealand twice and taking 3rd in the opening tournament, an event that has often been a tough one for the Eagles.
