Utah Youth Rugby’s fall 7s championships produced a big surprise in the girls bracket.
Wasatch/Provo, which had struggled to find victories over Majestics and United in the early going this fall, ended up beating those opponents in the state final tournament to win it all.
St. Ignatius is now at 9-0 after a 3-0 day at the Northern bracket of Rugby Ohio’s fall HS 7s.
The Wildcats beat Highland 25-7 and St. Edward B 48-7 before having to take on their own B side, a game they won 30-0.
"I think our defense really showed," said Aidan Miczak. "We didn’t let mistakes get into our head."
Hamilton, SPASH, and Divine Savior Holy Angels lead the pack in Wisconsin's Girls HS league.
Hamilton emerged from the Bruisers unhurt, winning 31-7 to improve to 2-0 and sit atop the Jeff Noe Conference. The Bruisers drop to 1-1-1, and DSHA's Bs are also at 1-1-1.
In the Tony Oliver Conference, Divine Savior beat Pittsfield 28-0 to improve to 2-0.
After an opening week that was somewhat muddled, the Utah Youth Rugby Girls Fall 7s season has clarified a little with Majestics getting some separation from the competition.
St. Ignatius and St. Joseph led the way in the opening weekend of Rugby Ohio's fall 7s.
St. Joe's Academy girls program ran out two teams. The St. Joe's A side beat Highland 20-0 and Brecksville 50-0, not allowing a point.
