High School Girls
The Celtic Elite girls team is 2-0 in the Midwest Regional Cup after a solid first day in Rockford, Ill. as the Ohio select side beat Illinois 37-5 and Wisconsin 41-17.
Populated mostly by players from St. Joseph’s Academy, but with several other programs providing players, the Celtic is coached by Jamie Cleary - a coach who was in a very good mood on Saturday evening.
Here are scores form the two HS all-star tournaments being held this weekend, with the Midwest Regional Cup in Rockford, Ill, and the Great Northwest Challenge in West Linn, Ore.

There was a lot of action at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Cup Tournament (RCT) – the largest girls all-star tournament in the circuit with eight teams – but a few players managed to put some distance between themselves and the rest of the field.
Congratulations to the 21 players named to the Rocky Mountain Challenge All Tournament Team. The Denver event served as the West Regional Cup Tournament, one of seven all-star tournament occurring countrywide and that serve as primary selection vehicle to the Stars & Stripes assembly.
Mariah Plieseis’ path was set. The Tennessee soccer star had landed an athletic scholarship, and all she had to do was finish out her senior year at Maryville High School before graduating to the next phase of her life.
