High School Boys
We kind of outlined our thinking on Instagram, so here's that 50 seconds on the big results this week:
Fort Hunt logged an impressive early-season victory this weekend, beating highly-ranked single-school Gregory the Great out of Pennsylvania 40-26.
The regular season in the SCIRF Platinum league is essentially complete, with St. Augustine taking 1st and San Clemente taking 2nd; those two will play February 22 in the championships game.
St. Augustine remained undefeated with a win over Fallbrook, and have another game against Mira Costa next week. But that game is immaterial as the Saints can't be caught.
The Knights of San Marcos High School battled a gritty Steele Canyon Cougars High School team to win the first Southern California Interscholastic Rugby Federation Gold Championship Saturday.
San Marcos won 47-20 thanks in large part to the team's consistently ability to move the ball across the field, thus creating gaps in the Cougar defense to exploit.
We’re down to four teas in Southern California’s Varsity White competition after this weekend’s quarterfinals.
Murrieta Valley emerged 24-10 winners of Wilson. It was perhaps a slight upset, but Wilson Head Coach Tony Balasurya was philosophical.
