Jesuit of Sacramento defeated SCIRF champion St. Augustine 22-5 in a crossover clash Saturday.
The game was played at Cal Maritime, and was an excellent example of the quality of rugby top schools are capable of. The Saints had trouble breaking through a staunch Jesuit defense, but play a smart, structured game throughout.
Paced by three tries from No. 8 Charle Cross, Lake Travis moved to 3-0 in the Rugby Texas league with a 19-10 defeat of Rock Rugby Friday night.
Lake Travis has had to work hard to rebuild a backline after much of that unit graduated in the spring. But Head Coach Rick Medina has gone back to the basics and made sure he can fold in a new cadre of players. It’s working.
March is here, and with that an explosion of rugby action. The Great Lakes area is still easing into it, as it's still snowy out there, but we do have Oregon waking up, and Washington active soon.
This weekend features a top ten clash between Jesuit and Saint Augustine from San Diego. Both teams will meet in the bay area and play at Cal Maritime. Following the game the teams will travel to Cal to watch the Cal Invitational.
The 2020 Carolina Ruggerfest kicks off this weekend with 18 different brackets for Boys, Girls, and Youth.
Hosted by the North Carolina Youth Rugby Union, the massive event in Matthews, NC brings teams from from 13 different states, with teams coming from as far away as Florida and Illinois.
