High School Boys
Rugby will return to high school teams at some point—maybe not soon, but it will be back, and it may not be so different as it was before.
While a task force of youth and high school rugby people are working on a plan to form a new USA Rugby division of Youth & HS, it's reasonable that players and coaches will have questions. Here are a few answers:
The Southern California Interscholastic Rugby Federation (SCIRF) has named its 2019-2020 All-League Team, and also named St. Augustine scrumhalf Aidan Konja at Player of the Year.
As the SCIRF looks to gain official acceptance in the California Interscholastic Federation, it will issue patches for each player to put on their latterman jackets.
Finalists in the Boys U18s 7s at the LAI, a contender for the SoCal club championship, and the development program for three current Eagles, Belmont Shore is a well-regarded high school program … but there is a lot more to the program than that, a lot more.
As we did with the single-school national championship, at GRR we're looking at how the HS Nationals might have panned out.
This is, of course, pur speculation. Most teams have barely started their club season, and so we're using everything we can from preseason games, and other indicators.
We won’t have a Boys HS National Championships, but maybe we can speculate as to who would have won.
