East Palo Alto center Saia Pongi is the top Stars accumulator for the Month of February.
Following Goff Rugby Report's initiative to have coaches submit their top 3 Stars of the game, we added them all up (1st Star had a strong game than 3rd Star, like in hockey), and gave additional credence for Stars awarded by the opposing coach.
De La Salle was idle but remains at #2 in part because Herriman lost a couple of warmup games and some of the other teams chasing #1 didn't play.
In a competitive and intense night of rugby Carlsbad took the Southern California Open Division school title with a 22-12 victory over St. Anthony's.
The teams played shortened games on the night, with Carlsbad defeating La Jolla 26-7 and St. Anthony's edging Crean 19-14. Crean beat La Jolla 28-7 to take third.
Morris HS Boys hosted their first preseason game of the year, taking on #36 Doylestown on Sunday.
Morris ran in eight tries to defeat Doylestown 46-22. Doylestown put up a strong fight to the final whistle with ferocious tackling and strong running.
