The regular season in the SCIRF Platinum league is essentially complete, with St. Augustine taking 1st and San Clemente taking 2nd; those two will play February 22 in the championships game.

St. Augustine remained undefeated with a win over Fallbrook, and have another game against Mira Costa next week. But that game is immaterial as the Saints can't be caught.

The Knights of San Marcos High School battled a gritty Steele Canyon Cougars High School team to win the first Southern California Interscholastic Rugby Federation Gold Championship Saturday.

San Marcos won 47-20 thanks in large part to the team's consistently ability to move the ball across the field, thus creating gaps in the Cougar defense to exploit.

We’re down to four teas in Southern California’s Varsity White competition after this weekend’s quarterfinals.

Murrieta Valley emerged 24-10 winners of Wilson. It was perhaps a slight upset, but Wilson Head Coach Tony Balasurya was philosophical.

Last year’s Rugby Texas D2 champion Strake Jesuit is back for another season and this time in D1, but don’t expect them to quaver at the higher division—this is a strong Strake team.

“We have a lot more tests to go so we’ll see,” said Strake Jesuit Head Coach Jason Kimball, who moved to Strake from St. Pius X. “We’re on the right path.”

On Sunday, March 1, St. Augustine Prep (NJ) Rugby will host both Xavier HS out of New York City and St. Joe's Prep out of Philadelphia, Pa. for a full day of rugby.

Showcasing some of the strongest single-school programs on the East Coast and will be an intriguing recruiting chance for college coaches.
