High School Boys
The West Suburban Bulls won the Rugby Illinois D2 championship earlier this month, defeating Notre Dame La Salette Academy 31-28 in dramatic fashion.
The Bulls opened the scoring first but La Salette stormed back to score three converted tries and lead 21-7 at halftime.
The second half continued in the same vein and La Salette built a 28-7 lead.
The nice thing about attending the Rugby Ohio Finals Day was that players listed where they are going for college.
We;ve got a lot of Arizona commits here, and several for the Aquinas women's program too.
The MAVRC Conference HS competition has named its all-conference selections.
The MAVRC includes DeMatha, Gonzaga HS, Georgetown Prep, Our Lady of Good Counsel, and St. John's College.

Eagle Impact Rugby Academy and Rhinos did not dominate—they played well to be sure, but the trophies went elsewhere.
LA Tribe and USA South were perhaps the story of Day One in the Boys Tier I division of the National Sevens Youth Rugby Championships.
Played on the campus of St. Ignatius HS in Cleveland, Ohio (thanks to SIHS students for help in reporting on this tournament), six excellent programs clashed.
