Major League Rugby held their draft, and following on that there was the RugbyTown 7s, where a decent number of college rugby players showed their stuff.

A group of Midwest high school-age rugby players are going to provide a rugby showcase during the largest high school football bowl series in the nation.
The National Schools 7s is open for registration.
The tournament, to be held at the Regional Athletic Complex in Salt Lake City (where they hold the NAI 7s), is set for October 7-8.
This tournament is for single-school teams. You don't actually have to be officially supported by your school, you just need a roster of 7s players who come from the same school.
Loudoun County Rugby and a Barbarians team of players from around Northern Virginia took the titles at the Rugby Virginia State 7s championships in late July, with U12s, U14s, and U18s championships on offer on the day.
