College Women
(Press Release) BOULDER, Colo. – USA Rugby has determined the Regional Playoff and Championship dates for the 2015-16 academic school year.
An effort’s being made – that’s for sure. As fall schedules are released, it’s evident that college varsity programs have banded together and will be playing each other this upcoming season. What does that mean in terms of conferences, playoff berths, championships, etc.?
The title required an overtime surge in the final, but it was well worth it, as Winona won the Lakefront 7s women’s division for the first time in its history.
Nicole Heavirland is the youngest player (by a couple of years) on the USA Women’s National Team currently in Canada for the Super Series, a three-test tournament between the USA, Canada, England, and New Zealand.
As mentioned, the USA’s Super Series roster includes more players seeking their first cap than those with senior test experience. Many veterans are concentrated in the forwards, specifically in the pack: Hope Rogers, Sarah Chobot, Katy Augustyn, Stacey Bridges (who locks and flanks), Laura Miller, and Molly Kinsella.
