The National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) released its women's top 20 ranking for the 2014 fall season.

It took three years, but Roger Williams finally has its trophy. After second- and fourth-place finishes at the previous two championships, the Rhode Island team took home the women’s National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) title after back-to-back victories against UM Moorhead and Sacred Heart.

Not too much movement in the Women DI College Rankings, despite the onset of the fall playoffs. A few key games outside of the ACRA-sponsored championship proved important, however, but no one team moved more than two spots.

The big thing that occurred since our last Women DII College Top 20 was the fall championship playoffs. These cross-conference games lent some perspective to the relative strength of regions, and also made room for West Coast teams that have taken down DI sides during tournament season.

The National Small College Rugby Organization women’s final four is set to kick off Saturday in Cherry Hill, NJ with four teams that really aren’t sure how to feel about each other. As often happens at this level, teams operate somewhat in a vacuum.  Roger Williams were virtually untouched in their demolition of teams in New England.
