Air Force delivered another blow to the Navy women, defeating the visiting Midshipmen 47-22 in front of a dense crowd last weekend. Navy, an Independent DI team competing in ACRA, needs to hit a hot streak if it’s to be considered as an at-large inclusion in playoffs.
The Mid-Atlantic women’s DII college divisions starkly contrasted with each other. In the Tri-State Division, four of five matches were shutouts, with Kutztown posting the biggest margin in its 145-point win over Rowan. But the Pennsylvania Division was much more nerve-wracking. The three victors outscored opponents 87-65.
It was an interesting weekend for Penn State. The nine-time DI champion hit the road for a double-header, but it was the friendly against the DII team, and not the DI conference game, that proved more challenging.
