College Women
Last week was a good one for the Davenport women. A member of the DII Great Lakes conference, the Panthers played two DI teams in the course of three days, and beat them by a combined 52-12.
The Ivy League kicked off in great fashion, as the two women’s varsity teams met in what was likely the toughest game of the regular season. The match was even more special for Brown, not only because it was the Bears’ first as a varsity team (Harvard was christened a year ago) but for the 24-15 win as well.
It was a busy weekend in women's DII action, with several conferences.

Life University's new women's undergraduate rugby team rebounded from a loss to Quinnipiac to beat Middle Tennessee State University 71-7 Saturday in their first victory of their first season.
On a very hot day the Running Eagles lasted longer and scored 13 tries, with No. 8 Nicole Syasko and wing Deshel Ferguson scoring seven between them.
