The National Small College Organization finishes up its men's season with the 7s in Chester, Pa., and New England College hopes to mark its move to DI for 2015-16 with a 15s and 7s double.

NEC finally overcame St. John's to win the 15s championships earlier this month. Now they look to repeat in the 7s championship they won last year.

OK, so, big breath, time to handicap the CRC.

This year’s competition is the best yet. With the local teams in their own competition in the City 4, organizers have been able to replace Drexel, Penn, Villanova, and LaSalle with the likes of Arkansas State, Air Force, and Clemson. That makes for more code games in pool play, and more potential for surprises.

The LSU Men's Rugby Team is moving to DIA and will compete in the Red River Conference in 2015-16.

Assistant Coach Scott McLean confirmed the switch with Goff Rugby Report, saying there were several factors involved in the decision.

A couple of weeks ago Goff Rugby Report named our College Player of the Year.

That was Kyle Sumsion, the captain and flanker for BYU. It meant we needed to name a Back of the Year, and this week that player gets his due.

Among the teams deeply disappointed in not winning the Men’s DI College 7s Championships in Denver, Central Washington would have to be at the top of the list.

Leading Davenport 21-12 with just a couple of minutes to go, the Wildcats saw it all disappear.
