Changed to a bracket format, the NCR All-Star tournament was, more than ever, a win-or-go-consolation situation.
So Saturday morning produced four all-or-something games.

Teams that lost on Saturday morning tracked to a consolation bracket, so there was still something to play for. All eight teams played three 60-minute games in the space of about 33 hours.

Cavemen Flex Muscles at Storer Classic

Cavemen Rugby out of Utah came out of the Storer Classic with three wins out of three, holding opponents to just 21 points in the process.

Cavemen opened against Oceanside HS, which is a major part of the Carlsbad Thunder HS program. The Utah side scored three tries in the first half to take a 17-0 lead into the break of the shortened game.

Explosive First Half Sees Saint Mary's Past Wildcats

In a much-anticipated matchup that didn't deliver the drama fans had hoped for, Saint Mary's defeated Arizona 68-15 Saturday in Moraga, Calif.

What Saint Mary's has is a group of players who play wide-open rugby with confidence and daring. They combine that with a group of leaders who keep everyone calm. The result is a quick and lethal early strike and tries.
