GRR: Fall Championship
The concept of the Bowl Game continues to have legs and it's the attraction of playing unfamiliar opposition that makes it special.
This coming weekend at the CRAA Fall Classic there will be two Bowl Games, with Kentucky facing Colorado State in the Mint City Bowl in one of them.
Much like DI fall champion UCONN (read more), Davenport is starting to realize that the toughest times are ahead.
Everything was different for DI women’s colleges this fall, as teams essentially split into three different championships. The increased activity didn’t concern UCONN, which went to work in the DI Northeast, tested itself at the East Regional, and then took home the DI fall championship last weekend.
Davenport is heading to the DII national championship, having won the fall title after two exhilarating games last weekend. A ferocious second half was needed against Bloomsburg in the semifinals, but the 41-26 victory pit the Panthers against perennial fall finalist Winona.
Connecticut held off a second-half comeback to defeat Air Force 19-12 for the Women’s DI Fall Championship title. UCONN will now compete for the national championship against the DI spring champion on May 7.
