GRR: College Men
Well this is a strange all-D1 rankings week as they sort some things out.
We decided to bring together all of the D1A, NCR D1, D1AA, and NCR D1AA-Club teams into one ranking. The only limit is that we're ranking teams that are schedule to play a significant fall season (so one or two games don't really count).
So who leads the Rugby East?
It might be too early to tell, of course, after just one week. It's relatively rare to have a team just roll throughout without at least a scare, if not an outright loss.
Playing in the Deep South, Southeastern Louisiana could well be a Men's D2 College dark horse and showed that over the weekend with a win over the University of Houston.
Played on a very hot Saturday evening, the game was tight in the first half, but opened up for a 52-22 SLU victory.
We are still very early on in the season, so the early results have a big effect when matched against teams that aren't playing yet.
This coming weekend we have about 70-75 men's D2 teams in action so we'll see a lot more adjustment next week.
Southern Nazarene kicked off their entry into conference play with a 53-23 defeat of a very solid UMS&T side in the Gateway Conference.
