The University of Oklahoma defeated North Texas 62-7 Saturday in a nib-conference game on Senior Appreciation Day.
The Sooners, a little stung by their overtime loss in the Big XII 7s last week, bounced back nicely against the Southwest Conference Champions, showcasing some excellent defense and good work in the pack.
MORAGA, Calif. – In a very wet and somewhat wild game, Cal held off St. Mary’s 27-14 Saturday at Saint Mary’s Stadium.
Wing Evan Coleman scored two of Cal’s five tries, but it wasn’t until very late in the game that the Bears shook the Gaels completely.
The University of Utah has qualified for the CRC 7s after beating Notre Dame College in a close, and somewhat controversial final in the LVI at Sam Boyd Stadium.
Utah made the final by denying the dangerous AIC team any meaningful possession, and the Utes did the same against a fast and well-structured Notre Dame College team.
The four semifinalists in the NCRC are settled after this weekend’s games, but the final seedings are yet to be decided.
In the game between the top two programs, Western Washington defeated Washington 26-17 to jump into a tie for 1st. Nate Muir led the way for the Vikings up front, powering into rucks and also scoring a key try.
