For the 10th year UCLA hosts the Dennis Storer Classic, and once again their rivals, Cal, are the favorites. The Storer Classic started in 2006 as a two-day 15s competition for then-Pac-10 teams. It continued as such until a PAC Rugby Conference was formed.

Rugby teams from PAC-12 universities already have their own conference, the PAC Rugby Conference, but only six of the 12 teams participate; that may change in time as Oregon State University hosts a tournament of northern PAC-12 schools this weekend. The Beavers are one of those six in the current conference, as are the Utah Utes, who will play in Corvallis, Ore.

BYU scored 12 tries and defeated Arizona State 72-8 in an early-season non-conference clash between the two Varsity Cup rivals.
The game was played Saturday at Snow Canyon High School in St. George Utah, a bit of a trip for both teams but one where there was warm enough weather to play.
