GRR: College Men
There is no team in the Men’s DII College semis that has been better prepared by its own competition than Wisconsin-Whitewater.
Bruised and battered, Towson University comes into the national men’s DII semifinals having escaped the closest of the four quarterfinals.
The Tigers held off Rowan 44-41 in the last round, and the game was every bit as close as the score indicates.
But now facing Wisconsin-Whitewater in this weekend’s semis in Greenville, SC, the Towson coaching staff has changed nothing.
Salisbury University may have lost to Mount St. Mary’s in a non-conference game this year, and may have lost the Capital Conference final to Towson, but they should not be counted out in the national semis.
The lesson in the top four teams in men’s DII college championships is that tough competition makes you strong - except when you are talking about Minnesota-Duluth.
As reported by Rugby Today, the CRC 7s has released its list of teams at the main tournament in 2016:
The teams already invited are: Arizona, Arkansas State, Army, Boston College, Cal*, Clemson, Dartmouth^, Drexel, Indiana, Kutztown#, Life, Michigan, Navy, University of Notre Dame, Penn State, South Carolina, St. Joe’s, Temple, UCLA, and Virginia Tech.
