GRR: HS Girls
The 2020 Carolina Ruggerfest kicks off this weekend with 18 different brackets for Boys, Girls, and Youth.
Hosted by the North Carolina Youth Rugby Union, the massive event in Matthews, NC brings teams from from 13 different states, with teams coming from as far away as Florida and Illinois.
The Carson Lady Colts made it three Girls Southern California 7s championships in a row last weekend, and that success is a harbinger of how the game is evolving.
This program continues to produce, both as the Carson Lady Colts and also as the South Bay Spartans in high-level sevens tournaments.
The pool for the NAHS 7s Girls bracket at the Tropical 7s is set, with 11 NAHS Series teams and five guest teams, all from outside the USA.
Less than two weeks remain for registration for the Carolina Ruggerfest in Charlotte.
Currently 79 teams are registered in seven brackets from U10 to High School (boys and girls) from 13 states as well as Canada.
The Girls High School Rugby National Tournament, to be held May 16-17, 2020, at Notre Dame College in Ohio, is expecting to be full to capacity, perhaps before the deadline to apply is reached on March 21.
So, if you're interested in playing, you should apply soon.
