GRR: HS Girls
AIC has announced a long list of talented recruits for both the men's and the women's programs.
The YellowJackets bring in players from as far away as the Czech Republic, as well as closer to home in Massachusetts. AIC brings in players from 11 different states.
While rugby has been shut down through much of the country, Utah Youth Rugby was able to run a series of modified 7s games for high school teams during July.
Many of the well-known teams within Utah played, both boys and girls. United, Herriman, West Valley, East HS, Wasatch, Copper Hills, Genesis, Kearns, Olympus, and Brighton, to name just a few, were involved.
USA Youth & HS (the governing organization for the sport for younger players) continues to push for a negotiation with USA Rugby over what USA Rugby does, and how much it should all cost.
A large meeting among Youth & HS representatives were given a presentation by the Executive Committee on where USAY&HS stands.
Rugby Indiana held an outreach and fundraising event this past weekend at the Hickory Hall Polo Club in Indianapolis.
That, perhaps is what made this event relatively unique—unless they are sharing playing space, you don't think of rugby and polo mixing. But Executive Director Wayne Eells wanted to shake things up.
Various organizations within USA Rugby have some form of leverage.
NCR has a potential membership pool of 15,000, and a large percentage of that pool is happy to play rugby within their own competitive group. Thus, the potential threat from USA Rugby to ban cross-divisional play between NCR teams and non-NCR teams carries little weight with those teams.
