Kutztown, the #4 team in DII's ACRA, kicked off its league season this past weekend, defeating Delaware 44-0 and looking like a strong contender for the MARC title.
The New England Small College (NESC) conference banked its first games of the season, and Bowdoin made an early, emphatic case for its dominance in the league. Last year, the Polar Bears suffered an early loss to Tufts before winning the NESC title and automatic bid to the ACRA playoffs.
Last week was a good one for the Davenport women. A member of the DII Great Lakes conference, the Panthers played two DI teams in the course of three days, and beat them by a combined 52-12.
The Ivy League kicked off in great fashion, as the two women’s varsity teams met in what was likely the toughest game of the regular season. The match was even more special for Brown, not only because it was the Bears’ first as a varsity team (Harvard was christened a year ago) but for the 24-15 win as well.
A few important moves have occurred since Goff Rugby Report’s previous Women’s DI College rankings – the most noticeable being the Quinnipiac and Army swap.
