GRR: Women College 7s
The United States Rugby Foundation has announced that the recipients of the 2022 Prusmack Awards, awarded to the top female and male collegiate 7s player in the country, are Lindenwood University graduate Sativa Tarau-Peehikuru, and Life University sophomore Darius Law.
This is an Opinion Column by GRR Editor Alex Goff—I fielded the question about which of the major 7s tournaments was quote-unquote better several times over the past 10 days or so and though I would look at it more closely.
Lindenwood made it two tournament titles in two as the Lions women defeated Life University 19-7 to win the May Madness Women’s Premier championship.
Undisputed national champions, Lindenwood went 6-0 in Atlanta, outscoring opponents 211-7, and then 4-0 in New Orleans, outscoring opponents 117-7.
Lindenwood dominated play in the Women's Gold Division to win the R7CC Sunday, shutting out Dartmouth 32-0 in the final.
The much-anticipated clash between D1 Elite and NCAA women's college teams was definitely interesting, and sometimes startling as the R7CC capped off Day One.
