GRR: Princeton
The DIAA playoff picture is almost complete, and by Sunday afternoon we will know all.
On Saturday, Chico State defeated Nevada and UC Davis defeated UC Santa Cruz to set up the much-anticipated Pacific Western championship game between those two teams. Meanwhile, Princeton beat Penn 45-0 Friday to advance Sunday's Ivy League play-in against Brown.
On April 16, AIC took the West Chester 7s cup against Army, Dartmouth, Norwich, Princeton, West Chester, Bloomsburg, and Kutztown, yet their 4-1 tournament record was not easily obtained.
Since the creation of the Ivy League conference, it has always been Brown, Dartmouth, Harvard, and Princeton occupying the top tier of the women’s competition. This year, the quartet pursued different post-season paths beyond the conference championship. All but Princeton aligned with the new varsity championship, which contested its quarterfinals last weekend.
Three stellar matches occurred in the Ivy League this weekend, as the victors won by a combined 21 points.
One side of the women's college 7s championship quarterfinals was exciting; the other saw a couple of lopsided scores. The morning began with Penn State and Stanford, and their traditional rivalry played out wonderfully. Princeton and Lindenwood followed, and that game came down to one try.
