The April 9 NorCal matches have revealed who will be continuing on for the cup, plate, bowl, and shield this coming weekend for the Northern California Girls HS Championships. Or did they?
In girls high school rugby, Northern California is considered Amazon territory. The January Kickoff Tournament seemed to reiterate that fact, and league contenders – namely Danville and Pleasanton – played sobering games against the Sacramento side. But Saturday showed that the league title is far from decided, as Pleasanton carved out a piece of NorCal land for itself.
Just two months after winning the 2nd tier at the Girls National Invitational Tournament, the Pleasanton girls team out of Northern California has capped off a busy and successful 7s sumer.
Only three years old the Pleasanton girls team won the Tier II of the Girls NIT, defeating State College, Kingston, and Morris while allwoing only three points.
