GRR: MIchigan
It will be a 2022 rematch in the final of the NCR Women's D1 playoffs.
Notre Dame College and Michigan will face off once more.
Michigan State held off Michigan 15-5 Friday night in Ann Arbor to essentially secure 4th place in the Big Ten and a spot in the 3rd-4th Game on November 13 in Chicago.
MSU has played five games in conference play—their game vs Purdue was called off but will be played November 6. Michigan, at 2-3, will be playing undefeated Indiana, and are not favored to win.
Notre Dame got a nice boost heading into the Big Ten championship this weekend, defeating Michigan 22-0 in a wet, physical game. The Irish finish the regular season 4-1, losing only to Penn State and unable to reschedule its game against Indiana. The latter are traditionally the top two teams in the conference and have committed to the DI Elite championship in the spring.
Michigan begins its girls high school post-season this weekend, and has an unconventional set-up that gets all of the teams involved. There are two pools of three, and each group will play a round robin on Sunday. The victors from each pool will play for the state championship the following weekend.
Indiana and Michigan were both undefeated as they entered last weekend’s match, and had enjoyed some good warm-up matches to prepare for the competitiveness of the Big Ten. Both teams are working with large pockets of young, developing players, which bodes well for the future, but adds some stress to the present.
