The finalists for the 2021 Great Midwest Conference both won in their conference openers this week.
Illinois State had to work for it against Illinois-Chicago 21-5.
We have about 70 teams in action in Men's D2 college this weekend.
Among them are at least 23 ranked teams. Some of those, such as #1-ranked IUP or #9 Villanova are playing D1 programs (Villanova's opponent, Army, is not their front line D1A lineup).
Southern Nazarene kicked off their entry into conference play with a 53-23 defeat of a very solid UMS&T side in the Gateway Conference.
This is the beginning of the Men's D2 college season.
Several of the teams in this division have played a couple of warmup games, but this week is when conference play gets going. Let's take a look.
