GRR: Jesuit
Northern California's preseason produced some head-turning results just as teams are approaching the regular league season.
Jesuit Sacramento put in a pretty big score in defeating a tenacious San Joaquin Memorial High School in Fresno over the weekend.
An early start and a long drive didn't deter the Marauders as they scored in the first minute—captain Roanin Krieger intercepted a pass to score.
Jesuit of Sacramento concluded a quick trip to Southern California, taking on three well-regarded single-school teams, winning one and losing two.
The results continue to be all over the place in Northern California Boys HS competition.
Granite BayGranite Bay pulled off something of a surprise with a 17-15 defeat of Jesuit. It was a strange day for Granite Bay Head Coach Chris Miller, who captained Jesuit many years ago, now found himelf marshaling his team through a rebuild and a defeat of his old team.
The #19-ranked HS club Danville beat #12 school team Jesuit in Sacramento Saturday, with the Oaks taking down the Marauders 22-12.
While Jesuit battled in this game and worked hard to keep it close, Danville, behind a hard-nosed forward effort, looked the more impressive team and was certainly the (slightly) more game-hardened.
