GRR: HS Rankings
It's still very early in the HS season, and we expect to see a number of changes all through the list.
Right now, with Southern California very active, those teams have more opportunities to get results that move them up. That's what is happening now. After this weekend's quarterfinals in the SoCal Varsity White, we'll see some teams drop down and others move up.
So we waited a little bit before launching out 2020 season HS Club rankings.
A few teams have already logged results, notably Marin, Bayou Hurricanes, Irvine Rhinos, Belmont Shore, and Phoenix Alpharetta.
We have expectations of other teams, and rank accordingly, but as they say every plan only last until you engage the enemy.
There is a ton of rugby to be played.
This is our opening attempt at the Boys Single-School Rankings.
For the most part this ranking reflects how 2018-19 ended. However, we've made a few changes at the top. With a coaching change and some player losses at Jesuit, we're bumping Gonzaga up to a preseason #1. This is speculation, to be sure, but a sign that just because you won last year doesn't mean you win this year.
Here are our HS Select-Side rankings for JV boys teams —also known as Tier 2.
We looked at how teams performed in the tournaments and gave some losing teams credit for close losses. But if you are inconsistent, that drops you down.
Well it's time to rank the 15-a-side Boys HS all-star teams.
As usual, this is difficult to do because it means judging the relative strength of only a few tournaments.
We look at margin of victory, and consistency. Teams tha compete in more than one all-star event and do well get a little extra.
