GRR: HS Rankings
Sometimes you just have to take a long look at the rankings and figure out whether it all needs to be changed.
This was a very weird rankings week.
We had well-regarded teams lose by significant margins. We had teams beat highly-ranked teams and lose to lower-ranked teams in a tournament format (OK, that is a commentary on the rankings rather than anything else).
The HS Club teams ranked in the neighborhood of 20-40 are a mixed bunch.
Idle teams, especially those who are idle for a long time, are vulnerable as more teams and more conferences play games.
That is why we see a few teams drop out and others move in thanks to beating a ranked team (Spalding), losing a close game to a ranked team (Brother Rice).
This was a tough ranking to do.
Mainly it was tough because a few Top 10 teams lost, but it wasn't like some other teams in the 12-20 range won major victories to put their hand up.
