GRR: Florida Youth Rugby
Several highly-ranked teams or hope-to-be kicked off their seasons in Boys HS rugby.
Okapi remains in 1st in the Florida HS league for the moment but the Wanderers did lost to Cardinal Gibbons this week.
three teams remain unbeaten in the Florida Boys HS league after Boca Raton, Okapi, and Cardinal Gibbons all won.
Gibbons is the only team with a perfect record, improving to 3-0 after beating the Jacksonville Wolverines 36-10. Both Boca and Okapi have one tie on their record (with each other, naturally).
While it seems Cardinal Gibbons is the top dog in the Florida yard right now, we know all of that can change.
Florida’s High School season is a relatively long one and teams often find themselves drastically different come the playoffs in April.
But as of now the chase is on to see who can haul them in. Okapi (3-0-1), Wellington (3-1), or Boca (2-0-1) all have a claim.
Okapi moved to 2-0-1 in Florida's U19 league while Cape pulled off a little bit of an upset, and Cardinal Gibbons kept rolling.
Gibbons scored 52 points for the second straight week, and went one better on defense, going from holding an opponent to just one try to holding them for no tries—just a penalty goal.
"Our defense," said Coach Eric Aumann, "is impenetrable."
