GRR: Eagle Impact Rugby Academy
Eagle Impact Rugby Academy flew out Monday to Spain for a short but very welcome tour.
The EIRA U18s team will play Spain's U18s on July 1 and July 3, staying and playing in Valladolid in Northwest Spain.
Every player and coach on the EIRA team had to be vaccinated as per requirements from the Spanish government.
Rhinos Rugby edged Eagle Impact Rugby Academy 12-7 to win the inaugural Boys 7s Youth Rugby Championship Sunday in Cleveland.
The Rhinos came back from a 7-0 deficit to score twice on the outside, with the second try being a penalty try, and then held on to win it from there.
This year it seems unlikely that there will be the sort of high school all-star tournament we've been used to seeing every summer, but there will be one event.
Eagle Impact Rugby Academy is holding a camp this December at Marian University in Indianapolis, Ind. in an interesting partnership with a well-established academy and a new varsity college program that hasn’t even taken the field yet.
The Utah Lions Rugby Academy is forging a new partnership with Eagle Impact Rugby Academy that will see EIRA diversify somewhat, and the Lions expand what they are able to offer.
The two organizations will be working together in a way that, say Lions Program Director Mike Cressler and EIRA Program Director Salty Thompson, will make both stronger.
