National Collegiate Rugby (NCR) is unveiling details of its insurance plan for players, coaches, and others involved in the collegiate game, a plan designed to be flexible and to cover teams wherever they play.
Even as college rugby conferences are shifting their associations, teams within those conferences are also moving around.
And one major issue is now rearing its head—varsity status.
The Chesapeake Collegiate Rugby Conference has confired that it will join NSCRO for the fall of this year.
The Chesapeake Conference has made a few changes for the 2020-2021.
The conference has expanded to nine teams, which is the number the conference had when it started in 2016. The Chesapeake dropped down to seven teams in the fall of 2019 after Mary Washington moved up to D1A and Virginia moved to the Cardinals Conference in D2.
