GRR: Boys Junior All Americans
Will USA Rugby's age-grade high performance pathway make more sense and be more easy to follow? According to USA Rugby HP Performance Pathways GM JD Stephenson, yes.
USA Rugby has today announced new naming standards for its men’s and women’s age-grade programs, with the All Americans monikers not used anymore for teams competing on the field.
High School and Collegiate All-American terms will now only be used for honors lists.
Naming schemes are as follows and will be consistent across men’s and women’s programs:
Among the players off to Queensland with the Men’s Collegiate All Americans is UCLA captain Niall Barry.
With 367 overall nominations and 1,312 overall votes, Ashlee Byrge and Bronson Teles very much deserve the title of Goff Rugby Report’s Most Valuable Player of the Month. Both players were high school All Americans, and both players were selected for the Junior All American teams.
The Men’s Junior All American 7s team is wrapping up camp today under the eye of coach Paul Holmes.
Holmes has been coaching in Ohio for years, working with the Tiger Rugby program. An accomplished player in his own right, he has been elevated to the MJAA 7s position, working with program director and 15s Head Coach Scott Lawrence.
