The Six Nations beckon for the Washington Irish on their tour of the UK, but they can show up knowing they put in a good day's work.

Friday the team did some sightseeing before taking on Wasps RFC amateur team. The game was typical of what rugby tour specialists Irish Rugby Tours can provide. Touring teams want competitive games. They don't want to win in a blowout or lose in a blowout, and IRT are experts are evaluating the level of a team and finding the right opponents.

So the Irish, which had benefited from a training session with London Irish, met Wasps in a downpour (of course, it's England) on Friday evening and came away losers 13-12.

The game was a close as can be, and the Irish's Packy Griffin said the team was very happy with the matchup. "It's all going great."

Now a trip to a Six Nations game today.
