Fordham Rugby Takes Off For Irish Tour
Fordham University's men's rugby team is on a plane right now to Ireland for a tour.
The tour, run by Irish Rugby Tours, has linked Fordham with three challenging games plus a detailed trip through some of Ireland's most iconic destinations.
"We're really excited about it," said Fordham's Jared Smallwood, who has been helping organize the trip. "There are so many things to see that I'm not sure which I am looking forward to most, but we definitely are up for the games, even if we haven't practiced in a month."
Fordham will take on Athy Rugby Club, Galwegians, and Highfield, traveling to Kildare, Galway, and Cork. They are taking 30 players—"anybody who wanted to come and could come is with us," said Smallwood—with most of the 1st side there.
In addition, the players will be in the stands for the Leinster vs Connacht Guinness PRO14 clash this Saturday at RDS Arena.
Irish Rugby Tours runs tours for all levels of rugby clubs to Ireland and also to several other destinations. Contact George Hook at george@irishrugbytours.com to get information on how you can take your club on a tour they will never forget.
