Playoffs are beckoning and big performances are becoming more important; here are some players who had an especially good weekend last weekend.

Jordan Head, MSU Moorhead (pictured left)

While Moorhead was busy surprising just about everyone in winning the Northern Lights playoffs, the flanker scored five tries in two games, getting one Player of the Game award.

Joe Tarantola, Marist

While Marist defeated Seton Hall in the Tri-State playoffs and Tarantola led the way with three tries, strong work on defense, and set up another try.

James Lyons, Villanova

Lyons scored three tries for Villanova at they beat York in a MARC playoff game.

Cam McLoughlin, Grand Valley State (pictured above)

The GVSU No. 8 led the charge in a key conference win against Ferris State. His strong carries and ability to use his teammates have been key all season.

Andrew Best, Marquette

The Marquette wing scored two tries and was named player of the game as Marquette secured a home playoff game with a victory over Minnesota-Duluth.

Keegan Bliss, Vermont

The Vermont inside center has been really effective as a goalkicker throughout the season and did the job this week in a key 22-11 victory over Boston University.

Vincent Juarez, Northern Colorado

Northern Colorado’s scrumhalf scored two tries and marshaled an attack that saw UNC beat Western Colorado 63-8. 

Musa Banat, Memphis

The Tigers beat Mississippi State and remained undefeated in the SCRC DII and Banat captained the squad and has been their leader all season.

Brett Kauffman, Lehigh

A superb defensive effort saw Lehigh defeat Shippensburg 23-3, and lock forward Kauffman was a terror, bursting into the Ship line and controlling the point of contact all day.

Dominic Tianga, Queens University Charlotte

The Queens University freshman No. 8 scored two tries and was a workhorse for the Royals on defense and set up the QUC attack as they beat Virginia in a game that clinched the conference title for Queens.
