College Player Of The Week: Steven Bodley, Long Beach State
Our College Player Of The Week this week is Cal State Long Beach captain and flyhalf Steven Bodley.
The 49ers are looking for another shot at a national D1AA title, and will need Bodley at his best, and at his best he can do it all. Bodley scored for the cycle in his team's league game against Claremont, scoring via try, penalty, conversion, and drop goal. He added 31 points against Loyola Marymount and is averaging almost 18 points per game in league play.
"Steven is a core contributor to LBSU’s success," said CSULB Head Coach Jason Reynolds. "He is a 5th-year senior who has been recognized as 1st team All-Conference and voted Overall Best Back of the Conference by opposition coaches in 2018. Long Beach State has lost only three conference games in the the past five years that he has been our flyhalf, and he has led the league in scoring each of the past five seasons."
the scoring isn't luck, added Reynolds. "He is consistent with what he has been doing year-in, year-out. It’s going to be hard to fill his shoes next year…"
