WWU Over Oregon
WWU Over Oregon
The University of Oregon Ducks visited Bellingham, Wash. for an important match up with the 3-0 WWU Vikings. They went home on the wrong end of a 66-7 score.
On a high after beating Oregon State, UO has thoughts of moving up in the NCRC, but Western continues to improve.
The game produced some excellent structured rugby despite the rain and wind that came down for the most part of 80 minutes. Western lead 33-7 at the half.
The Western pack was absolutely dominant in every aspect of the game. This showed on the scoreboard as they were credited for nine of the ten tries in the game. The tenth was a penalty try awarded by the referee when the Oregon player intentionally knocked the ball on denying the attacking team an opportunity to touch down.
The forwards were led by Mac Stone whose rampaging runs produced two tries and big Jay Moore adding two more. JoJo Alkhedairy, making the transition from prop to the centers, looked very dangerous in attack scoring two tries, while No. 8 Matt Motylewski had an outstanding game both in defense and attack. Tristan Mohn and Aiden Carlisle also scores while Nathan Matthis and Gerardo Cesneros combined for four conversions.
