Katy continued its strong run of results with a 24-19 decision over St. Pius X in Rugby Texas D! action over the weekend.
Katy is playing well as a team, and needed every bit of it to hold off a determined St. Pius team.
Aidan de Villiers, Glen Robertson, and Grady Pope all scored tries and Max Palmer converted all three and hit a crucial penalty goal to defeat Pius.
Meanwhile, perennial powers Lake Travis and Westlake both lost this past weekend. Lake Travis lost 17-0 to Jesuit of Dallas, which is a bit of a shocker. Westlake lost to Allen, a team that also defeated Jesuit.
The Dallas Harlequins Colts did well to eke out a victory over Rock Rugby 27-25.
The entire state has been thrown into confusion as to which is the strongest team. Rock, despite the loss, put its hand up. The Woodlands remains strong, as does Cy Fair, and the Colts may be the strongest of them all. However, Katy, which toured Louisiana and won big there, could challenge.
