The first round of the women's DI college playoffs is done and next week's final eight for the fall knockout rounds is now confirmed.

Defending fall playoff winners UConn are back in the final eight after a tough 39-24 defeat of Princeton. Meanwhile, Northern Iowa unleashed an impressive offensive display in beating Bowling Green 62-24. 

Rutgers was supposed to play Indiana, but IU pulled out and Michigan State ended up being their opponent. Led by another big game from Shai Hodges, Rutgers hammered Michigan State 61-12.

So that finalized the fall quarterfinalists. In the West Region, Air Force will play Texas A&M, and Rutgers will take on Minnesota. In the East, Notre plays Connecticut, and Northern Iowa takes on Boston College.
