Here’s a look at the Men’s DI College Gamebreakers for the past week - players who had a particular good weekend.

 

Kyle Rogers

The playmaker for Arizona as they won the West Coast 7s, Rogers wasn’t featured in the shoresheet, unless you realize that he set up most of those scores.

 

Andrew Guerra On a team where the backs sparkle, the Notre Dame College flanker has made an impact. He came off the bench to score the winning try against Davenport, and then started and was excellent for the Falcons in their 31-30 win over Indiana this past weekend. He was all-state for Mt. Carmel HS in Chicago, Ill., and has been an excellent addition to the Falcons in his first year.

 

Roland Blackiston

Still the leader of the Cal State Long Beach, the 49er halfback was superb for his team as they went 5-0 in the High Desert Tournament and took the cup. His fast delivery at scrumhalf, and his ability to pass a long distance, allowed the CSULB backs the room and time to launch attacks.

 

Conner Peterson

The Utah State inside center scored three tries as Utah State defeated New Mexico 52-16. This followed on a two-try performance for the midfielder against Colorado State. He has seven tries in five conference games.

 

Christian Morreale

The James Madison back helped lead JMU to a crucial and convincing win over Mary Washington in the Chesapeake Conference.

 

John and Nick D’Allara The brothers are small for their positions - John, the older of the two, is a 5-9 flanker who leads Iona in tries - and Nick, a freshman, is a 5-8 lock forward. Both are ferocious tacklers and epitomize Iona’s don’t-back-down attitude. The D’Allara’s dad was a member of the NYPD Emergency Services department, a prestigious post; he was killed during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Nick Duklewski

The Tennessee flyhalf kept the Volunteers on task during a tense and important 13-10 win over South Carolina.

 

Greg Fligor

Syracuse needed to win over conference-leaders Binghamton and Fligor helped it happen, intercepting a pass for a pick-five and then chased down a blocked kick for another try in a 26-24 victory.

 

Ben Terrell

The freshman scrumhalf started in place of regular Brady Gent and was outstanding in Davenport’s win over Bowling Green.

 

Bryce Campbell

The heart and soul of the Indiana University team, Campbell took a break from IU to showcase his skills for the USA Selects, and is now in camp with the USA 7s team. Lauded for his work ethic, Campbell also showed he has the skills and physicality to perform at the international level.

 

Terrul Ratcliff

The TCU No. 8 scored two tries, the team’s first and the team’s last, and led from the front in the Horned Frogs’ 41-22 defeat of Houston.

 

Parker Vincent

The Baylor flyhalf kicked two early penalty goals and one conversion to help get his side to a 25-23 scoreline against Arkansas. Then, with time almost up, he sotted a drop goal to win the game 26-25.

 

Jack Bengel

An Honorable Mention All American for Ohio State last season, the Buckeye senior is a 7-5 monster at second row. He is central to the team’s success in the scrum and lineout, and his counter-rucking and defense against mauls from lineouts is excellent.

Bengel was a big part of Ohio State’s 45-0 defeat of Michigan State this past weekend, mostly on defense, but he also scored a try. He’s a good passer, makes positive-grade tackles, and, according to his coaches, is getting smarter about the game every week.

 

Grant Gallagher

Playing left wing for Cincinnati and scored two tries in a 15-10 win over Dayton, scoring the game-tying try to set up the game-winner by Tony Parente.
