Lindenwood University finished an impressive 3rd in the Red Bull World Uni 7s finals Saturday in Bath, England.

The hosts, Bath University, won for the second year in a row. Lindenwood opened up against Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour from France, and won that game 29-12. They then took on Bath, and played the defending champs tough, but lost 27-19.

The Lions went on to beat the English qualifiers 21-5 and the Italian representatives 19-14. They capped off pool play with a 38-7 rout of Universidade Paulista of Brazil. That finished pool play for Lindenwood with a 4-1 record, just behind undefeated Bath.

That put Lindenwood in the semis where they were defeated fairly soundly 42-12 by Cardiff Metropolitan University of Wales. In the final, Bath went on to beat Cardiff Metropolitan to win it all. Lindenwood, meanwhile, defeated Universidade Paulista for the second time on the day to take third.
