Atavus Elite Women 7s Set for Glendale
SEATTLE – On August 19-20 at Infinity Park in Glendale, Colorado Atavus, the Seattle-based sports education and technology company, will host the first annual Atavus Elite Women’s 7s Tournament in and effort to provide players involved in Atavus programming with more top level competitive opportunities. Taking place at the end of the USA Rugby Academy Women’s Performing Resident Camp Powered by Atavus, the tournament will include the USA Rugby Collegiate All-Americans, recently crowned 2016 USA Rugby Club 7s National Champions Scion Rugby Academy and multiple Atavus All-Stars teams made up of the 60 female athletes from the week’s camp.
“This tournament offers an opportunity for athletes to develop in a competitive environment and gain valuable experience playing against higher-level competition,” said Emilie Bydwell, Head of Rugby for Atavus. “Athletes from all the teams will have the opportunity to put their best foot forward in front of USA Olympic 7s Head Coach Richie Walker and Collegiate All-Americans Coach Brandon Sparks as they look towards the future. The hope is that we can build this tournament into an annual National Development Academy competition in years to come.”
