The Herriman HS Rugby Club is looking for a head coach beginning Spring 2017 (or earlier, if desired). 

The team's current head coach, Derek Smith, will be changing his role in the program due to conflicts with his occupation and playing career. He is willing to stay on and help twice per week at practice.  Herriman is one of the top HS rugby programs in the country, and boasts the following since its inception in 2010:

5 state titles (3 in XVs, 2 in 7s)

A record of 98 wins and 7 losses

A coaching staff of committed, knowledgeable assistants – there are full staffs already in place for middle school and 9th/10th grade programs, as well as two Varsity assistants currently in place.

Numbers – the program currently has over 110 players, all from Herriman HS and its feeder schools – we are a single school program

A thriving and growing little league, which had over 60 participants this summer ages 7-14

A group of supportive parents and community members, who have fallen in love with this sport

60+ players 8th-12th grade with multiple years of rugby experience already under their belts, including experience playing with the HSAAs, EIRA, and Utah Cannibals (Utah Select Side)

A strong relationship with the high school, including a supportive administration and a cooperative relationship with the football program

A Director of Rugby who handles the majority of off-field and administrative workload and is also a teacher at Herriman HS and able to monitor the players. 

A schedule which includes some of the best rugby in the country, with 4-5 teams typically nationally ranked.

The head coach will have a big team of coaches and organizers to help run the team. Primarily, the head coach would need to concentrate on coaching the team, all other aspects of the program are already in place and running smoothly. The team is planning to play 7s in the fall, and a staff is already in place.
