USA captain Todd Clever will set a new record for most caps by a USA player Saturday when he leads the Eagles out against Russia.

Ths start will ensure Clever of his 68th cap, bypassing Mike MacDonald's old record of 67.

Clever has captained the USA 47 times, also a USA record, well past the second-most, which is Dave Hodges at 28.

The USA team has been confirmed (we told you about the lineup yesterday) with the only question-marks being on the bench. Utility back Stephen Tomasin, forward Harry Higgins, and loose forward/lock Langilangi Haupeakui could get their first caps as they are on the reserves bench. Tomasin was on the bench last week against Italy but did not get on, and neither did Higgins. Haupeakui is a new addition to the bench, as is Luke Hume.

The only changes in the lineup compared to last week are due to injury or unavailability - James King on for Greg Peterson, Mike Te'o on for Taku Ngwenya, and Tony Lamborn on for Andrew Durutalo.

The Eagles kick off against Russia at 7pm Pacific Time Saturday at Bonney Field in Sacramento, Calif. The game will be shown live on The Rugby Channel and on 24-hour delay on the CBS Sports Channel.
