Rugby is being played in high schools all around the country, so here’s a look at a few players who have made a special impact this past week.

 

Kress Woodward

The Bixby outside center scored three tries over the weekend at the St. Louis Ruggerfest. A multi-year starter at linebacker on the two-time state champion Bixby football team, Woodward has been virtually perfect in his tackling, and he is all kinds of problems running with the ball.

 

Tom Capriotti 

The Doylestown No. 8 helped pace his team to a win over Downingtown. Capriotti’s running was highly effective, but it was his work in the breakdown that really got him on this list.

Max Dacey

Dacey was a big presence in the forward pack as Fort Hunt notched a big win over highly-ranked West End.

 

Neil Fontenot and Josh Boudreaux

The two Bayous Hurricanes props both scored and led a solid forward effort as the Hurricanes shut out the Barbarians in a key Deep South matchup.

 

Eric Naposki The Fairfield Pegasi was a dynamo at scrumhalf as Fairfield upset Greenwich HS. (Edward Santandrea photo.)

 

Stephen Parsons

Parsons moved from flanker to center and was crucial as the Cape Pirates defeated Tampa Krewe 14-13.

 

 

Blake Richards-Smith The Coastal Dragons defeated the San Diego Mustangs, and could not have done it had they not had Richards-Smith stealing lineout ball all day. (Kevin Wilson photo)

 

Elijah Warfield

Warfield tested defenses with his pace and elusiveness, and paced St. Edward to two wins at the University of Kentucky HS Challenge.

 

Emrick Quah

Quah’s kicking game and nifty running led Eastside to an 82-12 win over Everett in Rugby Washington.

 

Chris Campbell

The St. Louis University High No. 8 scored three tries as SLUH won the St. Louis Ruggerfest, and he did it with a broken nose.

 

Ben Krzyton

The Liberty flanker helped his team log a key victory in Rugby Washington action this past weekend. Krzyton is a relentless harasser on defense and did not stop working all day, pressuring the Kent attack and dominating lineout play.

 

Enzo Steiner

The scrumhalf and co-captain of the Beaverton Barbarians has played exceptionally well as a leader and ball distributor as the Oregon club has moved to 2-0 with a win over Clark County.
